Music Stand Wrench

There’s nothing more frustrating than sitting down to rehearse only to find a wobbly music stand!  I designed this tool to fix that problem quickly so you can get back to the business of making music. 

Compact and lightweight, it fits unobtrusively in your instrument case or bag so it’s always within reach. It’s designed specifically for music stands and tightens both the music holder nut and the base bolt in seconds. 

The tools available for the following stands:

Manhasset:

• Manufactured before 1995 with a 9/16" base bolt
• Manufactured in 1995 or later with a 17mm base bolt
• 1/2 inch for tightening the music desk pivot. 
  

National Public Seating:

• 1/2 inch for the desk pivot bolt/nut and base bolt
• Phillips for the desk attachment clamp
• 14mm for some that may have the 14mm base bolt outlined in the instructions
  

Hamilton:

• 7/16 inch for the desk pivot nut
• Phillips for the desk attachment screw
• 1/2 inch for the base bolt 
  

Wenger (current/modern offerings) Shipping 9/21/26:

• 11mm for the desk pivot nut
• 4mm hex for the base bolt

These are designed to work with the original hardware that was shipped with your stand.  If the hardware was replaced at some point, this tool may not fit the replacement hardware. 

These are made out of a durable nylon and will do a great job of snugging up loose bolts.  They are not designed for hard tightening or loosening of the stand hardware, only enough to make the stand usable in rehearsal or performance.  They are only designed for use on a music stand. 

Overtightening may damage the stand, the tool, yourself, or all three!
